The editors

Adam Liber has more than twenty years of professional experience as an attorney, advising Hungarian and international companies on data protection compliance, data protection officer matters, technology law, information security, regulatory proceedings and litigation. He obtained his PhD in law with a doctoral dissertation on data protection law. As a guest lecturer, he regularly teaches data protection law and corporate data protection compliance in postgraduate programmes at, among others, the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Pázmány Péter Catholic University, the Faculty of Law of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary and the Faculty of Law of the University of Debrecen, as well as in continuing legal education programmes organised by the Budapest Bar Association. His teaching and advisory work focuses in particular on the application of the GDPR, organisational privacy governance, risk-based compliance, incident management and the data protection aspects of digital technologies. He holds international privacy certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP) and the CISM information security management certification, is registered by the National Cyber Security Institute as an expert acting as an information systems security officer, and is listed in the European Data Protection Board’s Support Pool of Experts as a legal and technology expert. He is a public body member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Vice-President of the Hungarian Corporate Compliance Society and Head of its Data Protection and Technology Working Committee, and Secretary General of the Hungarian Competition Law Association.

Tamás Bereczki is an attorney specialising in data protection, information security, IT and technology matters. He obtained a degree in computer engineering in 2011. He subsequently worked in information security and data protection in the financial services sector, as a consultant at one of the Big Four firms, and later as a collaborating lawyer at a global international law firm, specialising in data protection, cyber law and telecommunications law. Tamás has extensive experience in information security and privacy management, risk management, data protection impact assessments, risk assessments, the implementation and auditing of ISO 27001-compliant management systems, the management of privacy governance frameworks, incident and cybersecurity management, and the risk management of suppliers and cloud services, primarily in the financial services and pharmaceutical sectors. He has advised on the technology and IT aspects of numerous transactions and has also carried out several IT audits. He regularly advises clients, primarily global pharmaceutical, automotive, IT services and healthcare companies, on data protection, privacy governance, information security and cybersecurity, and technology regulation. He is Chair of the Hungary KnowledgeNet Chapter of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
