While the EU Commission announced today that it will initiate infringement proceedings against Hungary, the new Hungarian DPA has silently launched its website under the link www.naih.hu<\/a>. The Hungarian site of the DPA has an English subsection<\/a>, which provides general information on the new Hungarian Authority on Data Protection and Freedom of Information, further, it also displays the contact details of the Agency:<\/p>\n

The website of the Authority also published an unofficial English translation<\/span> of the Act No CXII of 2011 on Informational Self-Determination and Freedom of Information which is available under the following link: http:\/\/www.naih.hu\/files\/act_cxii_of_2011_eng.pdf <\/a>(in English) Note:<\/span> This translation is very poor and in our experience its language \/ wording does not always correspond to the official text of the new Data Protection Act.<\/p>\n

Notably, the data protection registry has not been made available on the website, furthermore, the disclosures under freedom of information laws are still missing, we assume therefore that the website of the new Hungarian DPA is still under construction and same requires further development.
